We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time tutor to lead the Movement training of actors and co-lead the Performance and Creation training within the Acting programme. The successful applicant will join our talented and passionate teaching staff to help deliver and shape new content for the sought-after Acting programme. You will support and develop the Acting programme by being part of a collaborative team that engages in a reflective working practice. You will be expected to provide sound assessment, feedback, and support to students throughout their journey at Toi Whakaari.

To be successful in this role you will be a passionate, experienced and accomplished professional who is able to work collaboratively across departments. You will be a strong relationship builder and people-centric, keeping people at the centre of everything you do. You will be known as an expert in your field, well connected within the industry and you will be expected to carry that forward in all areas of the role. 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant post-graduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience in teaching at least one indigenous movement tradition, for example: Māori movement, Siva Sāmoa, Ura Kuki Airani.
  • A minimum of 3 years professional practice
  • Demonstrated teaching experience and commitment to student development in a higher Education environment
  • A commitment to te Reo me ona Tikanga Māori.
